i have a 1990 saab convertible…do i have to undo the zipper to drop the top?

What type of window does it have? Most tops with a two piece glass window recommend leaving the window zipped up when putting the top down. Tops with the soft plastic window however, require the window to be unzipped and lowered to prevent the window from getting crinkled as the top is lowered.
